From the time he was a youngster, WakeMaker Custom Homes Owner, Larry Dean had a passion for building things.
With encouragement and long evenings by his father’s side in their woodshop, Larry spent countless hours harnessing his natural ability to create and construct. After earning an Industrial Engineering degree from East Carolina University, Larry established himself in the business world and enjoyed two very successful careers at Nortel Networks and in franchise ownership of a heavy-equipment dealership. In this time frame, Larry learned the basics of business and developed an expertise in managing people, products, and organizations.
In 2006, Larry heeded the call to launch his dream and immerse himself in the residential construction industry. In the early stages of this process, he worked closely with a Triangle area award-winning custom home builder. Larry used this time to gain even more knowledge and experience in the luxury home building process. He was a major contributor to the Parade of Homes winning entries and earned a reputation for his meticulous attention to detail and work ethic. All of these collective experiences continue to serve Larry well in his leadership of WakeMaker Custom Homes.
Since its inception, WakeMaker Custom Homes had expanded to two North Carolina regions and is now focusing on serving property owners, realtors, developers, and new home construction in the Wilmington and it’s neighboring North Carolina coastal communities.
